Moving Beyond Traditional Dog Daycare

Our daycare program is a hybrid between a day train and dog daycare which incorporates daily physical, sensory, cognitive and social activities. We offer intentionally chosen curriculum in the day to help support learning and enrichment.

Enrichment empowers dogs to perform canine-typical behaviors in a safe, healthy and appropriate way and promotes greater psychological, physical and emotional well-being. Dogs get to satisfy their natural instincts to sniff, chew, forage, hunt, dig, herd, chase and track scents.

Mental stimulation activities encourages your dog use their brain to focus and think, such as trick training, heelwork and puzzle toys. Both concepts can overlap each other and both are as equally important as physical exercise to the overall health and happiness of your dog.

Our day is structured like a school day, and the instructor has specialized training to meet the needs of our client dogs in this program. Some of the activities the dogs experience are....

Our daily off-leash farm run (our acreage is fully-fenced with 6 ft deer fencing), sniffari walks, scent work, nose work games, marker system training, foundations of basic obedience, trick training, beginner's agility, arts and crafts, water activities, chasing bubbles, engagement games, surface circus/free work, platform/place, disc/frisbee, basic recall, cavaletti, dig it/sandbox, canine fitness and body awareness exercises, flirt pole, tree tug, herding ball, chuck it/fetch, decompression treat puzzles/snuffle mats/lick mats, indoor daily rest time, appropriate small group play and much, much more!

Smaller Groups - Bigger Benefits

We limit our daycare enrollment to a maximum of 9 dogs to 1 handler. We believe quality over quantity is always best in dog care and keeping a lower dog to staff ratio allows us to provide more personal attention, thorough supervision and gives us the opportunity to really get to know your dog. Camp K9's service concept is uniquely different from the traditional daycare model by offering a day of structure, learning, enrichment, confidence building, training, one on one activities, smaller groups and positive socialization experiences. We are a great option for dogs who have aged out of or don't enjoy large, busy daycare settings such as the wallflowers, the timid, seniors or dogs who need more mental, physical and emotional stimulation in their day. Our goal is simple: to provide a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for your dog to play, socialize, relax, learn, exercise and thrive.

Our enrichment sessions are 'one on one' to prevent any resource guarding or conflicts and your dog receives the individual and personalized attention they deserve. We also facilitate slow introductions 'one by one' to ensure a safe and stress-free transition into our daycare for all our new pack members. We send daily digital report cards by text or email telling you about your dog's day at Camp K9 and we post regularly with updates and photo's on our facebook page. Make sure to come check us out to see what we've been up to!

If we feel a dog will create an unsafe environment for themselves, any people or animals based on any behavior we encounter, we have the right to refuse daycare participation.

Each attendee must commit to at least one regular day per week. Sorry, we cannot accommodate rotating schedules, drop-in clients or short-term clients. We are a small-scale operation, our space is limited.

Not all dogs have a social preference for a dog daycare environment and that's perfectly normal dog behaviour. We understand that daycare is not for every dog and we pride ourselves on being open and honest with our clients on their dogs well-being and needs. At the end of the day, we want your canine to have the best day possible, no matter where that is.
